With an uber-cool house sound and a vibrant visual aesthetic, Italians Do It Better now based in LA has emerged as the hippest record label on the planet. Mastermind by the enigmatic Johnny Jewel, the labels original roster includes Glass Candy, Chromatics and Desire, but has now expanded to feature emerging artists such as Farah, Nite Jewel, Tess Roby, In Mirrors and Twisted Wires among others. In addition, Jewel and his label mates have written and released various film and TV soundtracks for titles including Twin Peaks, Home, A Beautiful Now and Lost River establishing themselves as the ‘go to’ score products in Hollywood. Heady times indeed and the labels artists and work will feature extensively on this blog going forward.
